Clipping Manufacturers coupons

By Jane Jeong

Manufacturers coupons came about in the 19th century with Coca-Cola. To get the brand better known, Asa Chandler decided to give out coupons. He probably didn't realize we would suddenly become passionate clippers of coupons by 2013 to the point that there are some who have stores and stores of items because they clip with regularity and with hundreds of newspapers. We have even come to the point of selling coupons online, trading them, or reprinting them as a means of saving money.

There is a significant difference between the coupons you find in the paper and the manufacturers coupons you receive. For example you cannot copy, sell, exchange, or even transfer the coupon in question to another individual. If the coupon is not assigned to you, it can be given or sold to anyone else.

When you get a manufacturers coupon, you will usually be limited to using one per store visit. In other words, you can use a coupon, but you cannot stack coupons to save more money than the manufacturer intended.

Manufacturers coupons have changed in recent years because of extreme couponing. Some individuals have been paid to walk out with baskets filled with groceries because of using multiple coupons on one product. Some of the manufacturers coupons which are available now have you buy two or three products before giving you a half dollar to two dollars off. It has changed how things work making it less cost effective to use the coupon unless you intend on buying that many of one product.

It is all very specific as to what you can and cannot do with your coupons, but there are no real penalties. If you want to trade or sell coupons, there is little to no legal repercussion to concern yourself with. This of course will depend on the individual with the coupon using it legally.

If you plan to obtain manufacturers coupons, make sure you do so legally, and make sure you watch their expiration dates closely. So check out all the manufacturers coupons on eCouponMart.com they have some great coupons for you to use. It is also being added everyday.
