Important Liverpool Football Club Latest News

By Thomas Stewart

Since the arrival of Jurgen Klopp Liverpool has undergone a transformation. For this reason, this article will look at Liverpool football club latest news hitting headlines this last week. The club currently is closing in on acquiring the services of midfielder Marko Gruijic, who is a Red Star Belgrade at a deal of 5.1 million pounds. Red Star, a Serbian club has confirmed that a deal has been struck, and the player might move to Liverpool club at the end of the season.

The statement means that Liverpool has beaten Stuttgart and Anderlecht in acquiring the services of the promising 19-year-old midfielder. Red Star has included a ten percent fee on any future transfer involving the player. In the beginning, the deal seemed to be falling out when the father confiscated the player passport; hence, he could not travel out of the country.

In other news in the media states that Arsenal and Liverpool are the clubs that are leading in the race to get the services of James Maddison, who is a Coventry midfielder. The two clubs have been scouting the services of the player for a while now. However, they have not made any offer for James to leave Coventry team.

Though James missed a better part of the season due to injuries clubs are still determined to sign him because he has been promising for the time he has been at Coventry. The team values James at 10 million pounds, and if a buyer comes in the winter transfer window, they would sell but retain him until the end season on loan. On other news on Liverpool website indicate that the team manager has opened up for his managerial and playing career and experiences.

Klopp said he did not have a good career as a player and was determined to compensate for that as a good manager. The 48-year-old coach said that he has studiously taken a keen interest in the game because he understands that that was the only way he could be involved in the game at high level.

He stated on the website that he was a player at Mainz for over 11 years, a better part of that time he spent when the team was at second division of German football. Reports coming from the club indicate that Martin Skrtel is injured and will need at least six weeks out of the game to heal the hamstring and tendon. Skrtel limped after the first half during the Liverpool Watford 3-0 loss over the weekend.

His absence will likely cause headache problems for the manager at this time that the team is struggling. Skrtel has been a pivotal player during the clubs renaissance after the departure of Brendan Rogers.

The team will have to look for a solution as they look forward to a more tricky side such as Leicester that is top of the log. The thrashing of the team in the weekend might have dampened their spirit being that they have not won any game in the last five matches.
